John Squadra
is an artist and poet who lives with his wife Elizabeth and a
large black poodle on eight acres of woods and fields, not far
from the ocean in Maine. As an artist he has had one-man shows
in New York and Paris and is active as an fine art restorer.
He has written
and illustrated several books including, Dr.
Miraculous and most recently, This
Ecstasy, a book of his
poems which relate to the transformative energy of the Goddess.
This collection of poems and paintings, Compass
of the Rose, is a record of the soul's journey from the
dark recesses of the human heart into the heaven that we must
all find for ourselves, within ourselves, here on earth. His
art, whether poetry or painting, evolves from the realization of
the unity and sacredness of all creation. He is fond of what the
Greek lyric poet Simonides of Ceos wrote over two thousand years
ago, " poetry is vocal painting, just as painting is silent
poetry. " |
